Our cuisine takes us to the land of the rising sun to discover a Yakitori recipe - delicious chicken skewers with honey and soy. This succulent blend of sweet and savory is one of Japan's most famous dishes.
Ingredients :
- 2 cases. oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- 3 cs. soy sauce
- 4 chicken cutlets without skin and cut into cubes
- 3 tablespoons of liquid honey
- Pepper
Steps :
1. Prepare a marinade in a bowl with the oil, chopped garlic, soy sauce, honey and pepper. Then add the cut poultry pieces.2. Mix well and let stand. The more you let rest, the more intense the taste will be.
3. Stit 3 to 4 pieces on skewer sticks depending on the size of the pieces.
4. Return the skewers to a pan and cover with marinade while cooking.
5. Do not hesitate to let the kebabs come back in the sauce.
6. And now, your honey and soy chicken skewers are ready to be tasted!
These doses are given as an indication, and may vary according to taste! I must confess that I have not metered precisely what I put in my marinade, so everything is very approximate.
Cut the cutlets into long strips about 3cm wide.
Prepare the marinade by mixing the soy sauce, honey, mustard and ginger powder. Taste to adjust the doses. Dip the chicken slices in this marinade, and let stand for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally to soak each piece of chicken.
Embrach each slice of cutlet on a wooden skewer. Cut the onion into pieces. Heat a drizzle of oil in a large skillet with the onion. Brown the skewers by turning them regularly and sprinkling with the remaining marinade to caramelize well. For a sweeter caramel, you can add honey directly into the pan while cooking. Be careful, do not add salt without tasting your sauce! indeed, the soy sauce is usually already very salty.
You can serve the skewers with their sauce and rice.
